Anita Marie Mickelson, 79, of Austin, died Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at Good Samaritan Society in Albert Lea.
Anita was born Jan. 29, 1931 in Albert Lea, Minn. to John and Emilia (Conterras) Galvan. On Sept. 3, 1960, she was united in marriage to Jerome H. Mickelson in Stewartville. Anita was a retired employee of Land O’ Lakes in Albert Lea.
Anita enjoyed sewing, quilting and cooking. Spending time with her family was her greatest pleasure.
Survivors include two sons, Jerome Jr., San Antonio, Texas, Todd (Maria) Mickelson, Austin; four grandchildren, Jennifer, Jerome III, Mandie Mickelson and Mollie Mickelson; four sisters, Zoila (Reuben) Calderon, Albert Lea, Judy (Lupe) Gasca, Albert Lea, Rose (Dennis) Olson, Albert Lea, Diane Minear, Glenville.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jerome; parents, John and Emilia Galvan; brother, John Galvan; sister, Sandy Cueller; brother-in-law, Loren Minear.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at St. Edward’s Catholic Church with Father Joe Fogal officiating. There will be a 6:30 p.m. wake service on Friday at Mayer Funeral Home where friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. and also one hour before the service at the church on Saturday. Interment will be in the Seventh Day Adventist Church Cemetery in Bath Township.
