Wilma Arline (Peak) Noble, 85, of rural Austin died on Feb. 14 at Prairie Manor in Blooming Prairie.
Wilma was born on Jan. 5, 1925, in North Platte, Neb., the daughter of Ernest and Versa Peak.  The family lived in several states before settling in Hollandale, Minn. Wilma graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1945 and married Arthur Noble on June 6 of that same year “between corn planting and cultivating.” She helped with the farm work and was active in the women’s organizations at Red Oak Grove Lutheran Church with quilting, the strawberry festival, circle, and other projects. Playing cards and board games, traveling, sewing, reading, gardening, and cooking were among her favorite activities. Wilma had a kind, generous heart and will be missed by many who loved her.
Some comments shared at the hospital were: She’s my friend . . . classy lady, super, clear as a bell and using the cell phone like a whiz, a really nice lady, so wonderful, sweet, perky, my role model.  When told that she was a favorite of the nurses, she replied, “Oh they probably tell them all that.”
She is survived by two sisters, Alice (Willard) Spilde of Albert Lea and Twila (Fred) Norton of Salt Lake City, Utah; four children, Judy (Paul) Ulland of La Crescent, Larry (Kathy) Noble of Fridley, Richard (Sheryl) Noble of Oxford, Wis. and Peggy (Allan) Johnson of Shorewood; 15 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Francis and Douglas Peak; and her husband, Arthur Noble.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Wednesday, Feb. 17 at Red Oak Grove Lutheran Church. Visitation will be on Tuesday, Feb. 16 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Worlein Blooming Prairie Funeral Home in Blooming Prairie, Minn., and one hour prior to the service at the church.  Pastor Gene Leiter will be officiating. Burial will be at Red Oak Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish to give memorials may designate Red Oak Grove Lutheran Church or a charity of personal choice.
