Austin police are warning area motorists to be extra careful when driving near large snow banks.

Det. Brian Krueger said Friday that reduced vision near and around snow banks can lead to accidents. That scenario played out during a Thursday accident in town, he added.

Snow has piled up to more-than head height in many areas, as plows have cleared roads and parking lots following recent snowfalls.
