Peter Bartholomew

Peter A. Bartholomew, 53, of Danbury, Conn., husband of Judith (Sannino) Bartholomew, passed away unexpectedly at Danbury Hospital, on Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010.
Peter was born in Austin, son of Robert Bartholomew of Austin and the late Elizabeth (Malloy) Bartholomew. He graduated high school in Austin and went on to receive his bachelor’s from Western Connecticut State University and then his master’s in education from the University of Bridgeport. He had been a sixth grade teacher at St. Peter-Sacred Heart of Jesus School in Danbury. Peter had served in the U.S. Air Force and had been a member of the American Softball Association and the Richter Park Men’s Golf Club.
In addition to his wife and father, he is survived by five children, Karen Comiskey of Pawling, N.Y., Robert (Cheryl) Bartholomew of Brookfield, Heather (Phil) Buonanno of New Milford, Kristen Bartholomew of New Milford and Justin Bartholomew of Danbury; two step-children, Meagan and Emma Kendrick of Danbury; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Comiskey; and six brothers and sisters, Bernard (Joan), William (Tanya), Steven (special friend, Kathy) and Joseph (Teresa) Bartholomew and Virginia (Dean) Westfall and Frances (Dave) Hennen.
A memorial mass will be celebrated at St. Peter Church in Danbury, on Monday morning at 10 a.m. Interment will be private. A gathering of friends will be held at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Peter A. Bartholomew Memorial Scholarship Fund of St. Peter-Sacred Heart of Jesus School, 98 Main St., Danbury, CT 06810.
A private memorial service will be held in Austin at a later date.
