Marion Schmeling

Marion Eileen Schmeling, 68, died Wednesday morning, Feb. 17, 2010, at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis.
Marion Eileen Schmeling was born on Dec. 18, 1941, the daughter of Glenn and Esther (Kording) Schmeling in Dodge County, Minn. Marion graduated from Hayfield High School. She worked in music sales most of her life. The past 13 years she was employed at The Travelers in St. Paul. In February of 1961, Marion began as organist at Trinity Lutheran Church, and commuted every weekend from Richfield. She gave piano lessons to several students in the area. Music was her life.
Marion is survived by two brothers, Evan (Linda) Schmeling, Hayfield, Minn., Alan (Sue) Schmeling, Hayfield, Minn.; two sisters, Diane (Jack) Crawford, Owatonna, Minn., Lorna Schmeling, Coon Rapids, Minn.; and many nieces and nephews. 
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, and one infant brother.
The funeral service for Marion Eileen Schmeling will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 22, 2010, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 104 First St. SE, in Hayfield with the Rev. Paul Hauschild officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Hayfield. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 21, 2010, at the Czaplewski Family Funeral Home, 501 2nd Street NW, Hayfield, and one hour before the service at the church on Monday.
