The Lyle/Pacelli girls basketball team kept its season alive with a second half turnaround and it beat No. 6 seeded Janseville/Waldorf/Pemberton (8-18 overall) 63-53 on the road in the first round of the subsection 1A West tournament Tuesday night.

No. 11 seeded L/P (2-22 overall) trailed 23-20 at the break but it picked up the pace in the second half to get its first postseason win in at least six years.

“We were aggressive on the offensive rebounds and we got a few turnovers off of our press,” L/P head coach Brad Walter said. “This was a huge win for us and our players now believe we can win.”
