Jennie-O Turkey launches health, wellness Web site

Jennie-O Turkey store, a subsidiary of Hormel Foods Corp., launched a Web site for health and wellness management.

The site, www.wellnessdaily.com, is designed to collect the latest health tips through news stories, blogs, expert opinions, recipes and videos. Topics include weight loss, healthy eating, exercise and mental well-being.

“At Jennie-O Turkey Store, we’re committed to providing nutritious, easy-to-prepare foods that fit into our consumers’ active lifestyles,” said Cristofer Eide, director of marketing, Jennie-O Turkey Store, in a press release. “With WellnessDaily.com we’ve created an online community that supports people in their effort to achieve a healthier way of life by aggregating the most recent and relevant information available online and enabling a well-rounded conversation.”

The site will feature regular blogs from Tess, who also serves as “community manager.” Guest bloggers and health experts will also contribute to the site.

Registration for the site is free, and users can choose to receive regular newsletters. Users can create their own personal health and wellness news feed on the site to receive the most relevant news.

The first 25,000 registered members on the site will receive a rebate from Jennie-O Turkey Store for the purchase of one product up to $5.

The company is also offering a prize package for users who share news from the Web site on Twitter. The prize is valued at $1,250 and includes coupons for a year-long supply of Jennie-O Turkey Store products and a one-year gym membership.
