Helen Dankert

Helen L. Dankert, 91, of Austin, died Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010 at Our House Assisted Living.  
Helen was born on June 20, 1918 in Little Turkey, Iowa to Anton and Mary (Jarosh) Novotny. She attended rural school near Little Turkey. She married William Dankert on Nov. 9, 1940 in Northwood, Iowa. She was a member of Queen of Angels Catholic Church, the Rosary Society, Margaret Mary Unit and was a volunteer at the Salvation Army Thrift Store.
Helen is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Robert (Sandra) Dankert, Colorado Springs, Colo.; daughters, Joanne Koenig, Eureka, Kan., Ruth Jensen, Ames, Iowa; daughter-in-law,  Mary Dankert, Ruidoso Downs, N.M.; 16 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grand-children; sister, Beatrice Dankert, Austin.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William; son, Stephen; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters; and three brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 13 at Queen of Angels Catholic Church with Father Dale Tupper officiating. Visitation will be at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. and at the church on Saturday for one hour before the service. There will be a Rosary at 5 p.m. on Friday at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery.
Memorials are preferred to Queen of Angels Catholic Church.
Clasen-Jordan Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
