The Vikings girls basketball team lost their third straight game to end the regular season when they fell to Rochester Lourdes 54-45 in Hayfield Tuesday.

Hayfield (17-8 overall) trailed by eight early in the second half, but they tied up the game. However it wasn’t enough as Lourdes (20-2 overall) responded when sophomore guard Hannah Anderson knocked down two straight threes en route to a personal 11-0 run to put the Vikings out of reach.

“That kind of put us out of it,” Hayfield head coach Fred Kindschy said.

The Vikings finished the season by losing seven of their last nine games and they will be without starting center Kiley Severson, who tore her ACL and MCL, for the playoffs.

“I like what we’ve seen out of our freshman center Abbie Pollock and hopefully we can come up with a run in the playoffs,” Kindschy said.

Hayfield scoring: Jordyn Krekling, 16; Abbie Pollock, 11; Molly Streightiff, 6; Renee Stier, 5; Beth Felten, 4; Kayla Garness, 2; Liz Ristau, 1
