The Packers swimming and diving team qualified four swimmers for the Class ‘A’ state meet at the Section 1A meet in Inver Grove Heights Saturday.

Freshman Nick Brehmer advanced in the 200-yard freestyle, Junior Michael Thorsheim and senior Jordan Stasi advanced in the 200-yard individual medley and senior Zach Rausch advanced in the 50-yard freestyle.

The same four athletes also made up the state qualifying 200-yard freestyle and 400-yard freestyle relay teams.

Austin was named the Section 1A Academics Champion during the meet.

As a team, Austin took seventh with a score of 146.5. St. Thomas was first with a 413 team score.
