The Austin boys hockey team allowed five first period goals and lost 9-0 at Faribault Monday.

The 13th ranked Falcons (13-6 overall, 6-1 Big Nine) out-shot Austin (6-12 overall, 0-8 Big Nine) 49-9 and they attempted 44 shots in the first two periods.

“Faribault’s strong and they’ve got some fast forwards who kind of dominated us tonight,” Austin head coach Tim Peterson said. “We played better in the second and third periods after a slow start.”
