Dooley racks up 40 saves as Austin boys top La Crescent

The Austin boys hockey team got some big help from its goalie in a 5-1 win over La Crescent (7-16 overall) Tuesday.

Senior Aaron Dooley came up with 40 saves, including some big ones when the Packers (9-14 overall) were clinging to a 2-0 lead in the second period.

“It was a really good performance by Aaron and this is a big win that helps us solidfy our spot in the section,” Austin head coach Tim Peterson said.

Isaac Gorman scored two goals for the Packers, while Joe Siegfreid, Adam McMasters, and Preston Moe each scored once.

Austin had 30 shots on goal.
