Austin wrestlers take sixth at Veldman Invitational

The Austin wrestling team finished sixth at the Veldman Invitational at South St. Paul Saturday.
The Packers combined for 135 points in the 16-team field. Monticello placed first with 251.5
For Austin, Michael Hirsch placed first at 185 pounds with a 3-0 effort on the day that takes his record to 25-1 for the year. After a first-round bye, Hirsch scored a pin and two technical falls.
At 145 pounds, Howie Underwood placed second, going 2-1 on the day. Underwood is 19-5 for the year.
