The Austin All Stars will field a sixth team this summer, the Group voted to field a 10 year-old and under team for the 2010 summer season.

The team will be known as the “Jays”In honor of Jay C. Hormel.

The summer youth baseball program also scheduled tryout dates for May 1-2 on the Ellis Fields.

Application forms will be available next month.

The group also voted to purchase new uniforms for all teams this season.

“We will be going to the vest type uniform” said Rick Webber,

All Stars Equipment director. “Thanks to a Hormel Foundation Grant and other donations from All Star baseball friends, we are able to replace the old uniforms”.

All Austin and area boys and girls are eligible to tryout. Besides 10 and under, all stars also will field 11and under, two 12 and under teams, 13 and under and 14 and under.
