Terrill Gardner

Terrill “Terry” L. Gardner, 69, of Austin, died on Jan. 25, 2010 at Desert Springs Hospital in Las Vegas, Nev.
Terrill was born on Oct. 18, 1940 in Algona, Iowa to Donald F. and Irma Dee (Roupe) Gardner. He attended Sargeant Country School and Rose Creek High School. He also attended Austin Vo-Tech and obtained a degree in auto mechanics. Terrill was united in marriage to Helen K. Fredrickson on Jan. 11, 1958 at Crane Community Chapel in Austin.
Terrill was a heavy equipment operator for Ulland Bros. of Austin. He was the owner and operator of Gardner Grading Excavating Co, Inc. of Austin. He also worked for Mathy Construction of Onalaska, Wis. He was a member of Crane Community Chapel, the VFW and the Eagles. Terrill served as the treasurer of Lansing Township.
Terrill enjoyed stock car racing, hunting and he was passionate about gardening. The most important things he enjoyed were camping and fishing with his family and teaching his children the art of fishing. He loved spending quality time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He especially enjoyed spending winters with his wife in Arizona and Nevada.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Helen; his children, Kathy L. and Loren Anderson, Sioux Falls, S.D., Diane M. Burnison and Rick Roskammer, Hutchinson, Minn., Troy A. and Nikki Gardner, Chaska, Minn.; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, Phil (Marilyn) Gardner, Austin, Byron (Debbie) Gardner, Andover, Minn.; sisters, Marcia (Mike) Ernst, Albertville, Minn., Joyce Gardner, Maple Grove, Minn., Karen (John) Lammey, Austin; nieces and nephews.
Terrill was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Perry.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Feb. 1, 2010 at Crane Community Chapel with the Rev. Dale Christiansen officiating. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Austin. Visitation will be at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. and at the church for one hour before the service on Monday.
Casket Bearers will be Charlie Klock, Al Lunt, Bruce Rindflesch, Dave Braaten, Johnny Loverink and David Loverink.
Clasen-Jordan Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
