Karl Theuer, Jr.

Karl Francis Theuer, Jr., age 78 of Blooming Prairie, Minn., died at Homestead Hospice in Owatonna, Minn., Friday morning, Jan. 8, 2010. 
He was born Sept. 10, 1931 to Karl and Catherine (Fleischhaker) Theuer in Webster, S.D. 
When Karl was six years old, the family moved to Dodge County, Minn. where Karl attended country school through eighth grade.  He farmed for over 20 years. 
He married Dorothy Wentzel on March 13, 1953 in Austin.  They raised three children, and in 1976 he went to work for Lysne Construction until his retirement in 1994.  A member of St. Columbanus Catholic Church in Blooming Prairie, Karl enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, fix-it work, hunting and fishing.  His wife, Dorothy, passed away this past April.
Survivors include two sons: Wesley (Pat) Theuer, Bosque Farms, N.M.; Wayne Theuer, Shakopee, Minn.; daughter: Karla (Arden) Anderson, Blooming Prairie, Minn.; six grandchildren: Tami, Amy, Scott, Sara, Alissa and Wyatt; seven great grandchildren: Alex, Adrian, Talon, Gavin, Awtum, Joclyn and Kaden; brothers: George (Helena) Theuer, Winnebago, Minn.; Eugene (Sue) Theuer, Baudette, Minn. 
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy; a brother and a sister.
Friends may greet the family from 4 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2010 at Worlein Blooming Prairie Funeral Home.  A private family service will be held at a later date.  The family prefers memorials to Homestead Hospice House, 2350 NW 26TH St., Owatonna MN 56060.  Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.worlein.com.
