Jean Marie Buecksler, 82
Jean Marie Buecksler, 82, of Owatonna, died Friday, Jan. 1, 2010 at St. Marys Hospital, Rochester.
Jean was born Oct. 4, 1927 on the family farm in Meriden Township, Minn., the daughter of Hugh and Elsie (Nusloch) Ferguson. She attended country school near Owatonna and then Owatonna High School, graduating in 1946. Following school, she worked at Security State Bank in Owatonna and was later united in marriage to Lester Buecksler. She worked for the family business, driving livestock trucks, and also worked as a book keeper and office help. Lester and Jean later divorced. Jean worked for Rainbow in Owatonna, the Steele County Food Shelf and was a personal care attendant for area families. 
Jean always tried to help others before herself. She was a member at St. John Lutheran Church and taught Sunday School for more than 25 years. She also helped with landscaping and planting flowers at the church. She especially enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren.
She is survived by two sons, Jim (Ruth) Buecksler of Owatonna and Jerry (Val) Buecksler of Brownsdale, Minn.; a sister, Carroll (Harold) Janke of Owatonna; a brother, John Ferguson of Odin, Minn.; five grandchildren, Tracee (Mat) Underwood, Kris (Renee) Buecksler, Kayleena (Eaton) Miller, Caleb Buecksler and Andrea Buecksler. Jean is also survived by three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Peggy Teeters.
Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2010 from 4 to 7 p.m. and one hour prior to the service in the church. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010 at 11 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church with Pastor Dave Klawiter officiating. Interment will be in the St. John Cemetery in Owatonna.
