Elaine Gladys Christopherson, 80, of Austin, died Sunday morning, Jan. 10, 2010, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Home in Austin.  
She was born Oct. 3, 1929 to Andrew and Minnie (Rosecke) Jensen in Austin, where she spent most of her life. She married Lyle Christopherson on Feb. 17, 1948 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Austin. To this union, six children were born. Lyle passed away on Aug. 24, 1970. A custodian for Austin Public Schools and a member of Crane Community Chapel, Elaine enjoyed embroidering and reading.
Survivors include her children, Jennel (Pete) Hines of Austin, Larry (Diane) Christopherson of Austin, Marlene (Orris) Ohm of Brownsdale, Dean (Edee Kalmi) Christopherson of Castle Rock, Colo., Connie Sylvester of Rochester, Edwin (Deb) Christopherson of Austin; 18 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchildren; special friend, Wes Viktora of Austin. 
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lyle; brother, Carl; and sister-in-law, Kathryn.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2010 at Crane Community Chapel with Pastor Dale Christiansen officiating. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m., Tuesday at Worlein Funeral Home in Austin and at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment is at Grandview Cemetery.
