Doris Marie Forland, age 79 of Austin, Minn. died Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2009 at Seasons Hospice in Rochester, Minn.
 She was born Dec. 28, 1930 in Preston, Minn., to Paul and Alfa (Kulsrud) Forland.
Doris graduated from Austin High School in the class of 1948. She was married to L. Duane Forland on July 27, 1957 at St Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin. Doris had worked for the Hormel Foods Company but for many years has worked as a receptionist and the wedding coordinator at St. Olaf Lutheran Church and just recently retired from those positions. She was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church where she was active with the church circle, the craft group and always volunteering for many of the church activities.  Doris was also a member of a card club and enjoyed monthly gathering with her classmates.
Doris is survived by her children: Diane and Doug Freeman, Rochester, Minn., Dave and Ann  Forland, Austin, Minn.; Julie and Jeff  Johnson, Rochester, Minn.; grandchildren: Nicole, Christopher, Bradley, Elizabeth and Ben;  sister: Bev  Benson, Houston, Minn., twin sister and husband, Dorothy and Morrie  Anderson, Rushford, Minn.;  several nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Duane Forland.
 Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, Jan. 4, 2010 at St. Olaf Lutheran Church with the Rev. Ron Barnett Officiating.  Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery in Austin.  Visitation will be at the Clasen-Jordan Mortuary on Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. and for one hour before the service at the church on Monday. The family prefers memorials to St. Olaf Lutheran Church.
 Organist will be Neal Erickson. Soloist will be Erin Schumacher.
