A rural Austin resident reported Monday that a cow of his has been missing since August and was possibly stolen.

Richard Hemann, 39, of 19360 540th Ave., said his 3-year-old black angus heifer has been spotted about three times since it has gone missing, most recently about two weeks ago.

At one time, a witness told Hemann that they saw the cow grazing in a different pasture in southeast Austin, according to a sheriff’s department report.

The animal is valued at more than $650.
