Lucille Hanson

Lucille Jane Hanson, age 95 of Austin, Minn. died Thursday morning, Dec. 24, 2009, at the Adams Health Care Center in Adams, Minnesota. She was born Aug. 31, 1914 in Austin to LeRoy and Nancy (Herrick) Corbitt. She began her schooling in a country school and then attended Elkton High School. After graduation, she attended Stout College for one year.
She married Leonard Hanson on June 27, 1934 in Osage, Iowa. They farmed in Marshall Township where they lived until 1962 when they moved to Austin. Leonard passed away in 1982. In July 1985 she married Hubert Hiemstra and he passed away in 1987. 
Lucille was a member of Little Cedar Lutheran Church and active in WELCA, circle, and volunteered with Mower County Senior Citizens. She still actively did sewing, quilting and many crafts. She enjoyed gardening and working with animals.
She is survived by a son: Luvern (Judy) Hanson, Adams, Minn.; three grandchildren: Mark (Brenda) Hanson, Craig (Julie) Hanson, and Kevin (Carie) Hanson; eight great grandchildren: Jordon, Jacob, Cassandra, Kristina, Jon, Tyler, Erin and Jessie; sisters-in-law: Gladys Roy, Adams, Minn., Millie Hanson, Michigan; nieces and nephews; all of the family members of Hubert Hiemstra; and special friends, Mike and Jackie Oliver, of Traverse City, Michigan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Leonard, and husband, Hubert. 
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. at Little Cedar Lutheran Church, Adams, on Monday, Dec. 28, with Rev. Jane Timmerman officiating.  Visitation will be 9:30 to 11 a.m. on Monday at the church. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Austin. Worlein Funeral Home of Austin is in charge of arrangements.
