Lloyd Wytaske

Lloyd Darold Wytaske, 78, of Lansing, died at his home Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009. 
He was born May 21, 1931 to Leo and Helen (Alwin) Wytaske in Denison, Iowa. He married Louise Burnet in August of 1950 in Austin. The couple had seven children and were later divorced. Lloyd served in the Army and was stationed in Korea during the Korean Conflict. After an honorable discharge, he went to work for a packing plant in Colorado and later, an aircraft plant in California. In the 1960’s Lloyd returned to Minnesota where he worked for the Milwaukee railroad before driving a truck on highway construction. He married Dixie Wentzel on June 16, 2000 in Deadwood, S.D. Lloyd loved to race stockcars and also enjoyed dancing, golfing, fishing and playing cards.
Survivors include his wife, Dixie of Lansing; four sons, Randy of Alaska, Peter of Rochester, Kenneth (Angela) of Lansing. Albert (Tracy) of Lansing; three daughters, Debra (Robert) Cook of Lansing, Sonja Diaz of Austin, Laura Wytaske of Waukee, Iowa; four stepsons and two stepdaughters; many grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-step-grandchildren; three brothers, Donald Wytaske (his twin) of Austin, Cecil Wytaske of Georgia, Howard (Sharon) Wytaske of Austin; many other relatives and friends. 
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009 at Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin with military rites by American Legion Post 91. Friends may greet the family one hour prior to the service.
