LaVonne Mallan

LaVonne Marie Mallan, 59, of Humansville, Mo., died Saturday Dec. 5, 2009.
She was born May, 27, 1950, the daughter of Henry and Dorothy Mallan, in Austin. She graduated from Pacelli High School in 1968 and later from St. Benedict’s College in St. Joseph, Minn.
LaVonne taught school in Breckenridge, Minn. and also in Colorado Springs, Colo. Later, she was employed by REM of Rochester, Minn. She later worked in customer service for Longview Fibre in Fridley and retired after 15 years of service.
LaVonne was very fond of horses, dogs and goats. She was a coach for Special Olympics and a volunteer at the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
LaVonne had been a resident of Humansville for the past year, moving there from Oak Grove, Minn., where she had lived from 1990 through 2008.
She is survived by her mother Dorothy Mallan of Austin; seven brothers, Robert (Donna) Mallan of Rochester, Minn, Steven Mallan, Roger Mallan, Kevin Mallan, Duane (Betty) Mallan, Michael (Sandy) Mallan, and Thomas Mallan, all of Austin; three sisters, Catherine Andreatti of St. Paul, Minn., Virginia Mallan of Austin, Theresa (Patrick) O’Connor of St. Paul, Minn.; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father in 1977.
Services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9 at Murray Funeral Home, Humansville, with Pat Wissman officiating. Burial was at Flemington Cemetery, Flemington, Mont. Memorials may be made to ARC of Mower County, P.O. Box 744, Austin, MN 55912-0744.
