Laura Firsching

Laura Firsching of San Pedro, Calif. died Nov. 26, 2009, after a short illness.
She was born June 9, 1920 in Stacyville, Iowa to George and Theresa Firsching. She attended Visitation Catholic School.
During the 1940s she was employed at a defense plant in Woodstock, Ill. After several years as a personal assistant to Germaine Hormel, she moved to California. She retired after 30 years as a laboratory manager at San Pedro Hospital.
Laura was an avid California Angels fan, made frequent trips to Las Vegas and usually finished two daily crossword puzzles.
Laura will be lovingly remembered by her family, relatives and friends.
Laura is survived by her brother, Joe Firsching; her sister and brother-in-law, Gert and Fred Retterath and sister, Theresa Ungaro; sister-in-law, Cordella Firsching; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Lawrence (Alvira) Firsching and George Firsching; and her sisters, Alma (Barney) Retterath, Rose (Art) Rauen and Margaret (Louie) Schmitt; sister-in-law, Helen Firsching and brother-in-law, Frank Ungaro.
Funeral services will be private.
