Edward Ferguson

Edward G. Ferguson, 72, of Northfield, Minn. died Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009 at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester, following a lengthy illness with liver cancer.
He was born July 13, 1937 in Dodge Center, Minn to George and Mildred Ferguson. Upon graduation from high school in 1956, he started to work at IBM in Rochester. He served four years in the US Navy and then returned to IBM. Later in his career, he worked as a quality engineer for Honeywell, McDonald Douglas and Boeing.
Ed loved music, playing the piano, violin and guitar; and attending many bluegrass festivals. He also enjoyed his extensive woodworking hobby of making small trucks, boats, creative vases and numerous other objects.
He is survived by his brothers, Jim of Minneapolis and Douglas (Jean) Ferguson of Stewartville; his sisters, June of Columbia Heights and Robin (Henry) Orth of Austin; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
The funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 21 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kasson, with Pastor Marie A. K. Anderson officiating. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the service.
The Dibble Funeral Home in Kasson is in charge of arrangements.
