It’s a golden opportunity for anyone who lives in the 5th District. A special election will be held Feb. 10 to fill the district’s seat on the Mower County Board of Commissioners.

The seat was left vacant after the recent death of Commissioner David Tollefson, and the filing period runs between 8 a.m. Dec. 22 and 5 p.m. Dec. 30.

We encourage as many residents to run for this office as possible because a strong pool of candidates is a win for the 5th District and ultimately for Mower County.
