A 31-year-old Racine man was arrested for drunken driving after allegedly driving through a yard and being pulled over by the property owner.
According to police reports, around 1:25 a.m. Sunday, the 31-year-old man drove his truck through a yard on Maple Street in Dexter. The 39-year-old property owner followed the truck and flashed his lights until the driver pulled over on East Pleasant Street.
Deputies with the Mower County Sheriff’s Department arrived after and took the 31-year old driver into custody.
Damage was reported to the truck, but no damage was reported to the property.
Mower County Sheriff Terese Amazi did not recommend that other citizens pull over suspects in similar cases. However, she said people can follow suspects at a safe speed to inform police of the suspect’s location.
