Packers top Waseca 13-2

The Austin girls hockey team blew past Waseca 12-3 in Riverside Arena Saturday.

The Packers (2-2-1 overall) scored six times in the second period to take an 8-2 lead.

“Things are going well right now,” Austin head coach Denny Bray said. “Everybody got a lot of ice time.”

Carley Grunewald scored five times for Austin, including twice in a 10-second stretch in the second period. Kirsten Stanek and Ashley Arhart scored two goals for the Packers.

Audrey DeVries had 28 saves and Ausitn had 39 shots on goal.
