Local grads having an impact on area college football teams

A few area graduates are making their marks on the local college football scene.

Austin graduate Marcus Ball has 22 tackles (8.5 for a loss), 6.5 sacks, three fumbles forced and a fumble recovered as a defensive lineman at University of Wisconsin Stout (6-2 overall).

Andy Burton, a 2009 graduate of Austin, is an offensive lineman at Stout.

Blooming Prairie graduate Elliot Herdina is the top receiving threat for the Gustavus Adolphus football team (3-5 overall) after eight games. Herdina has 40 catches for 401 yards (12.1 per catch) and seven touchdowns. The 2008 BP grad leads the team in scoring and he also has 619 all-purpose yards.

Hayfield graduate Darin Wagner has four tackles (a half for a loss and half a sack) for the Gusties.

Gustavus is located in St. Peter, Minn.

Spencer Ohm, a 2007 BP grad, has completed 56.2 percent of his passes for 800 yards and three scores at Concordia University in St. Paul (3-7 overall). Ohm has run for 69 yards (1.6 per carry) and one TD.

Justin Yerhot, a 2009 Austin grad, and Josh Johnson, a 2009 BP grad are also on the Concordia team as offensive linemen. Austin Moe, a 2009 BP grad, is a wide receiver at Concordia.
