Some workers get the day off today in recognition of one of our nation’s most important holidays, Veterans Day.

The day recognizes our country’s men and women who in some point in time put their lives on the line so we can continue to live free.

Many of these individuals have been shot at, have seen friends die and have taken part in everything from World War II to the latest wars in Iraq in Afghanistan.

We urge our residents to thank our local veterans for their bravery and their service to our country.
