MENOMONIE UW-Stout defensive end Marcus Ball, a senior from Austin, Minn. capped off the 2009 season by being named a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) player of the week on defense.

Ball ran his season sack totals to 9.5 with two sacks in a 27-24 win over UW-Oshkosh. With the ball on the UW-Stout 15 and UW-Stout leading 7-0 in the first quarter, Ball had a 12-yard sack on third down, forcing a fourth-and-19. Ball got another third down sack, this time for 15 yards late in the second quarter.

On the afternoon, Ball had five total tackles, all solo, with three tackles for loss, two sacks and one pass batted down.
