Warren Gene Harrington, 80, of Austin, died at Sacred Heart Care Center Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2009.

He was born Dec. 2, 1928 to Roy S. and Bernice (Erickson) Harrington in Austin, where he grew up and attended school. He married Alice M. Quam on Sept. 10, 1948 in Austin. Warren owned and operated Harrington Trucking until ill health forced him to retire in 2007. He moved to Adams Healthcare Center and in August of 2009 to Sacred Heart Care Center.

Survivors include his wife, Alice Harrington; one daughter, Judith Harrington of Austin; two sons, Kent Harrington and Tracy (Sheila) Harrington, all of Austin; four granddaughters; two step-granddaughters; six great-grandsons; three great-granddaughters; three brothers, DuWayne Harrington of Austin, Gary (Karen) Harrington of Austin, Richard “Dick” (Patricia) Harrington of Ames, Iowa; nieces and nephews; and brother-in-law, Henry Quam.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 17, 2009 at Worlein Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dale Christianson officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment is at Oakwood Cemetery, Austin.
