The mission of Austin Public Schools is Empowering Learners for Life. As a parent of a 4-and 6-year old who have attended three of the district’s eight schools, I can honestly agree with this statement knowing that my children are top priority in the Austin Public School District.
Both of my children have attended the Community Learning Center for preschool. The high-quality staff at the CLC is truly dedicated to the kids and helping them build a strong relationship of loving to learn.
My son transitioned to kindergarten very smoothly with the excellent preparation towards kindergarten outcomes he received as a four-year-old in the Austin Public Schools preschool program.
Our community is very fortunate to have the Woodson Kindergarten Center. The ability of the school district to sponsor all-day, every day kindergarten shows its strong commitment to even the earliest of learners. The staff at Woodson are excellent, many of which furthering their education with the Masters Program on behalf of The Hormel Foundation.
As a parent of a first-grader at Sumner Elementary School, I know that my son’s educational needs are top priority due to the dedication of the staff, class size levels and the district’s high standards for learning and education.
To maintain these and many more existing high-quality programs, I encourage you to focus on the positive direction Austin Public Schools is striving for in the upcoming operating levy referendum. Vote Yes on Nov, 3, our children are worth the investment.
