The League of Women Voters Austin Area will host a Primary Election Forum on Wednesday, Oct. 28 at the Austin City Chambers. It will begin at 7 p.m. Candidates are: Richard Lees, Aaron P. Keenan, Mary Kleis, Jeff Kritzer, Jeff Ollman and David A. Simonson.
Each candidate will be given two minutes for an opening and two minutes for a closing statement. Each candidate will have one minute to answer each question, which will come from the audience and League members. This forum will run in a professional manner with a moderator (Kristine Allas, Voter Service chairperson), and time-keeper (Julie Tufte, president). If a candidate is unable to attend, a substitute may not appear. Candidates may not distribute campaign literature on or near the premises of the meeting. Candidates may not endorse another candidate during the course of their comments. No reference of a personal nature will be tolerated. A person’s public record, not his/her character may be examined. Again, only professionalism and fairness will be exercised.
Come with questions, register to vote, be informed so that you can vote and your voice will be heard on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3.
The forum may be televised at a later time on Austin Cable Government Channel 16.
