Kingsland topped Southland 20-25, 25-12, 25-20, 26-24 in Adams Thursday.

The Rebels (9-10-1 overall) played strong, but couldn’t get the win.

“The girls played with more intensity than we have seen all year tonight,” Southland head coach Angie Smith said. “We played four very hard games and I am proud of them.”

Katie Barthel had 24 set assists, three kills, 11 digs, and three aces for the Rebels, Jenna Juenger had eight kills, Jana Schammel had seven kills and an ace serve, Jessica Pitzen had seven kills and 13 digs, Brandi Schammel had six kills, and Sarah Nelson had 12 digs, two ace serves and two ace blocks.
