Pacelli’s Lisa Johnen has advanced to the final four in singles play at the Class ‘A’ state tennis tournament.

Johnen beat Abby Edin of Staples-Motley, last year’s runner up, by scores of 6-1, 6-1 in the quarterfinals Thursday in Minneapolis.

“Lisa was not intimidated at all. She said she was a little nervous before she started, but that vanished early in the first match,” Pacelli head coach Mark Henderson said. “Lisa knew how tough her draw would be. She came in mentally and physically prepared for that challenge and it paid off in a big way.”
