Narcy Meyers

Narcy Barbara Meyers, age 88 of Adams died Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009 at the Austin Medical Center in Austin.

She was born Oct. 29, 1920 in Lansing Township, Minn. to Rud and Mary (Wanous) Lunachek. Narcy attended school in Lansing and graduated from Austin High School in 1938. She was married to Norbert J. Meyers on June 3, 1941 at Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Austin. The Meyers lived in Austin for two years and then moved to a farm near Adams. They retired and moved to Adams in 1982 and spent winters in Weslaco, Texas.
Narcy was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Adams. She was also a Z.C.B.J. Lodge member and a 4-H club leader in Mower County.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Norbert in 1989; and son Rudy in 1990.
Narcy is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Diane Meyers; granddaughters and husbands, Jennifer and Aaron Nye, Julie and Brian Gay; great grandson, Jacob Nye; sister-in-law, Charlotte Meyers; and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2009 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father James Seitz officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Austin. Visitation will be at the Adams Funeral Home on Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. There will be no reviewal at the church. The family prefers memorials to the donor’s choice.

Organist will be Joyce Edland.

Casket Bearers will be Brian Gay, Aaron Nye, Pete Schmitz, Terry Kiefer, Mark Wolterman and Charles Peterson. Honorary Bearers will be Orrie Anderson, Dean Elliott.
