Mona Graff

Mona May (McDermott) Graff, 90, died Oct. 12, 2009.

She was born on Oct. 22, 1918 in Austin to John B. and Lydia (Bliese) McDermott. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church by Rev. W. F. Milbrath. She graduated from Austin High School in 1936. On June 17, 1939 she married Herbert Graff, also by Rev. Milbrath at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Austin where she lived her entire life.

She was a member of St. John’s LWML.

The family wishes to thank the Prairie Manor staff for Mona’s wonderful care.

Survivors include her husband, Herbert of Austin; their children, Judy Arthun of Bloomington and Rodney (Patricia) Graff of St. Paul; five grandchildren, Kathy, Shelley, Amy, Ryan and Randy; four great-grandchildren, Chad, Cady, Taylor and Paige; sister-in-law, Arlene McDermott of Scottsdale, Ariz.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Marcia May and her brother, Marno McDermott, Sr.

A funeral service will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Tom Ogilve officiating. Interment is at Oakwood Cemetery.
