Harriet Miner

Harriet Berdella Miner, 91, of Blooming Prairie died Monday evening, Oct. 19, 2009 at Prairie Manor Care Center in Blooming Prairie.

She was born June 2, 1918 to Ingval and Louise (Buck) Boe in rural Hayfield, Minn. where she grew up and attended school, graduating from Hayfield High in 1936. After completing teachers training, Harriet taught in rural schools near Sargeant. She married Everett Miner on Sept. 26, 1940 on the family farm. They made their home in the Blooming Prairie area. To this union three children were born. Everett passed away on April 2, 2004. A member of First Lutheran Church and Circle in Blooming Prairie, she enjoyed gardening, flowers, taking care of the grandchildren and making cinnamon rolls.

Survivors include sons, Marlin (Jan) Miner of Blooming Prairie, Roger (Beverly) Miner of Brownsdale; daughter, Linda (Steven) Lysne of Colby, Wis.; nine grandchildren, Tammy, Doug, Lisa, Dan, Angie, Brenda, David, Nichole, Courtney; 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband and a brother.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009 at First Lutheran Church in Blooming Prairie with Pastor Heidi Heimgartner officiating. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m., Wednesday at Worlein Blooming Prairie Funeral Home and at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment is at First Lutheran Cemetery, Blooming Prairie.
