Betty Beecroft

Betty Jean Beecroft, 75, died on Friday Oct. 2, 2009 at Our Lady of Good Counsel in St. Paul.

Betty was born on June 30, 1934 in Austin, the daughter of Kenneth and Margaret Combs.

She grew up in Austin and graduated from high school here. She met and married Jack Beecroft on June 21, 1958. They made their home in Amery, Wis. where she worked for Amery Super Value and then Fabri-tek. She later became a school bus driver for the Amery School District, where she worked for 25 years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Amery.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Mary Jo Edwards; and brother, Pat Combs. Survivors include her husband, Jack; daughters, Julie Beecroft, Peggy Beecroft (Kari Mattek) and Vickie (Derek) Mullen; son, Elliot Beecroft; brother, Bill (Holly) Combs; sisters, Helen (John) Scheid, Margaret (Don) Pell and Carolyn Combs. She also leaves one grandchild as well as other relatives and friends.

A Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday Oct. 6, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. from St. Joseph Catholic Church in Amery. Burial was at the Amery Cemetery. Casketbearers were Derek Mullen, Elliot Gunderson, Bill Combs, Jeff LeBarron, Charlie LeBarron and Jim Scheid. Visitation was Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Williamson-White Funeral Home in Amery and for one hour prior to services at the church. The Williamson-White Funeral and Cremation Service assisted the family with arrangements.
