Alvin Omsberg

Alvin Arnold Omsberg, 90, passed away Saturday Sept. 26, 2009 at the VA nursing home in Rifle, Colo.

Alvin served in the U.S. Army during World War II. When the war ended he continued his education by graduating as a court reporter from the Minnesota School of Business. Alvin moved to Lancaster, Ohio, where he worked as a court reporter for the Common Pleas Court of Fairfield County. Alvin retired from the court Oct. 24, 1974.

Alvin moved to Glenwood Springs, Colo. following his retirement.

Alvin was a very generous man and he will be missed greatly by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters: Tena Omsberg Dearmin, Agnes Omsberg Schaffer, Olga Omsberg Shrerr, Ella Omsberg Campbell and Gladys Omsberg Shefflin.

He is survived by nephews, Howard Dearmin of Glenwood Springs, and Tom Dearmin of Lyle, Minn; and nieces, Marne Shauer, of Rose Creek, Minn. and Donna Campbell, of Minneapolis.

A private burial has taken place at Rosebud Cemetery in Glenwood Springs.
