The Austin girls tennis team blanked Faribault 7-0 on the road Tuesday.

Sophie Hebrink didn’t lose a match game and won with a clean 6-0, 6-0 sweep for Austin (4-5 overall, 1-2 Big Nine).

“She took this team seriously and went about her business and played hard. So many times when we play competition that maybe weaker we tend to get flat footed and play to their level,” Austin head coach Thomas Tauchnitz said. “Sophie did a great job getting started quickly and never letting off the gas.”

The No. 3 doubles team of Alex Larson and Jordan Flahrety won 6-1, 6-0.

“Alex and Jordan played a good match and did a great job of getting their serves in and any chance they had they moved in well,” Tauchnitz said.
