Leichtnam has a hand in 6 TDs as Larks blow past L/P

There was just too much Caleb Leichtnam for the Lyle/Pacelli football team Friday night. The junior quarterback played a hand in six GM touch downs as the Superlarks rolled to a 60-14 win over L/P (1-2 overall, 1-2 SEC) Friday in GM.
The Superlarks jumped out to a 34-0 lead in the first quarter and by the end of the game, Leichtnam had run in a score, thrown for two, ran two interceptions back for TDs, and returned a punt for a touch down.
“We had no answer for Leichtnam’s speed,” L/P head coach Mark Buntje said. “Once he had a couple of big plays, we just quit and we need to play harder.”
While Michael Gehling produced over 170 yards off offense and four scores, GM was missing the third cog in it its offensive attack as Killian Smith went down with an ankle injury early in the game.
It didn’t slow down GM (3-0 overall, 3-0 SEC) as they scored five touch downs in the first quarter.
“I was really happy with how we opened the game,” GM head coach Gary Sloan said.
