The Southland volleyball team was swept at Fillmore Central by scores of 25-13, 25-15, 25-20 Thursday.

“We were a step slow and we had no communication tonight,” Southland head coach Angie Smith said.

The Rebels (1-1 overall) were led by Katie Barthels who had 11 digs, eight assists and one ace block. Emily Howton had three kills, three assists and 10 digs, Brandi Schammel had three kills and four digs, and Jana Schammel had two kills and six digs.
