Wilbert Spieker

Wilbert John Spieker 76, of Castle Rock, Colo., passed away peacefully after a long illness Saturday Aug. 15, 2009 at his home with his family by his side.
Wilbert “Willie” was born to John and Sena (Kruse) Spieker on March 18, 1933 in Rushmore, Minn.
After graduating from Worthington, Minn., he served in the United States Army in Germany. He then moved to Austin. Willie married Beverly Elaine Baird Aug. 9, 1957 at the Little Brown Church in Iowa.
Willie attended Austin Vocational School where he received a degree in electronics. Upon graduation he was employed by Weyerhauser in Austin for 34 years.
Willie loved to camp, fish, bowl, vacationing with his family and friends and collect coins. He was a member of Presbyterian Church of Austin where he served as a deacon and elder. He was member of New Hope Presbyterian Church in Castle Rock.
Willie is survived by his wife, Beverly, of 52 years; his son, Craig (Caralee), Castle Rock, Colo.; granddaughters, Ashley and Alyssa; daughter, Debra, Castle Rock, Colo.; sisters: Francis Moret, Sylvia Baddgor, Sena (Harlan) Berkness, Viola (Duane) Weerts; brothers, Raymond Spieker, John (Elaine) Spieker; sister-in-law: Margaret Spieker; brother and sister-in-laws: Kenneth and Maxine Meyer, Donald and Elaine Baird; many nieces and nephews and many, many dear friends.
He was proceeded in death by his parents; sister, Patsy Galema; and brother,a George Spieker.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 23, 2009 at the Westminster Presbyterian Church Austin, Minn. with the Rev. Andrew Lindahl.
Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers.
