Norman Leidall

Norman James Leidall, 83, of Lyle, died Aug. 23, 2009 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Home. He was born on Apr. 2, 1926 to Walter and Myrtle (Naversath) Leidall in Mitchell County, Iowa. He lived on the farm all his life and was a janitor at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Lyle.
Norman enjoyed spending time with his great nieces and nephews. Jodi has been a special niece and caregiver to Norman.
Survivors include a brother, LaVerne (June) Leidall, Lyle; sister, Avis (Jim) Johnson of Austin; nieces, Jan (John) Coumbe, Diane Horgen, Jodi (Robert) Kaput, Cindy Jensen; nephews, Todd (Melody) Leidall, Greg Johnson, Scott (Julie) Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Bruce Leidall.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 on Saturday, Aug. 29, 2009 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Lyle with the Rev. Barbara Finley-Shea officiating, Judy Stark, organist, and Scott Johnson, soloist. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church. There will be no reviewal. Interment is at Six Mile Grove Cemetery, rural Lyle. Honorary casket bearers are Lorimer Nelson, John Coumbe, Shirll Nelson, Jim Horgen, Sylvan Stromley and Bob Kaput. Casket bearers are Greg Johnson, Jake Kaput, Scott Johnson, Darin Horgen, Todd Leidall, Ryan Horgen, Daniel Leidall and Matt Coumbe. The family prefers memorials to Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Lyle.
