Mary K. Dombrock, 89
Mary Katherine Dombrock, 89, of Austin, died on Aug. 9, 2009 at the Austin Medical Center.
Mary was born July 11, 1920 in Austin to William and Rose (Strejn) McGuire. On Sept. 2, 1939 she was united in marriage to LeRoy W. Dombrock in Osage, Iowa. He preceded her in death on Oct. 8, 1984. Mary was a wife and mother. She loved to read and she enjoyed cooking for her family. Everyone she met was touched by her beautiful spirit and loving heart. She hugged everyone and made you feel special.
Survivors include five children, David (Judy) Dombrock, Tacoma, Wash., Paul Dombrock, Owatonna, Craig Dombrock, Austin, Doug Dombrock, Austin, Tori (Curt) Evans, Austin; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; siblings, JoAnn (Bill) Piekney, Vienna, Va., Alvin Backlund, San Diego, Calif., Darwin Backlund, San Angelo, Texas.
In addition to her husband of 45 years, she is preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 15, 2009 at Queen of Angels Catholic Church with Father Dale Tupper officiating. There will be a 4 p.m. CCW rosary and a 7:30 p.m. wake service on Friday at Mayer Funeral Home where friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. and also one hour before the service at the church on Saturday. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
The honorary casket bearers will be Joshua Evans, Derek Dombrock, Adam Dombrock and Kevin Dombrock. The casket bearers will be Jacob Evans, Carl Wheeler, Nick Johnson, Dameon Dombrock, Michael Dombrock and Eddie Dybevik.
