Mary Ann Burzinski, 89
Mary Ann Burzinski, 89, long time resident of Austin, passed away peacefully Aug. 17, 2009 with her husband at her side.
She was born Dec. 18, 1919 in Austin to Frank and Margaret (Peters) Krokos. She went to work at Hormel Foods as a teenager and became a stay at home mother to raise seven children after she married Joseph Burzinski at Queen of Angles Catholic Church on Flag Day, June 14, 1944.
She was an active member in the St. Augustine Church and her steadfast faith was an inspiration to family and friends. She had a love for nature and her flower gardens were a testmant to that love. If you wanted to play a card game of 500, she was more than willing and as her kids and her gradchildren can attest. The winning team usually had her as a partner. Perhaps her most endearing trait was her never ending love and support for family. She would give of hersellf to endless bounds and there was no better advocate.
Survivors include her husband, Joe; son, Jerry; daughter, Judy (Clint) Lueck, Medina, Minn.; sons, David Burzinski, Monticello, Minn., John Burzinski, Maple Grove, Minn., Brian Burzinski, Jordan, Minn., Mark Burzinski, Austin, Dean (Jill) Burzinski, Austin; seven grandchildren, Jason Burzinski, Rachael (Andrew) Hamilton, Scott Johnston, Bridget Burzinski, Nicholas Burzinski, Jacob Burzinski, Matthew Burzinski and one great-grandchild, Oliva Hamilton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, one sister and a granddaughter, Christine.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 21, 2009 at St. Augustine Catholic Church with Father Joe Fogal officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. There will be a 6:30 p.m. prayer service on Thursday evening at Mayer Funeral Home where friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be David Burzinski, John Burzinski, Brian Burzinski, Dean Burzinski, Clint Lueck and Jacob Burzinski.
