Margaret Heuton

Margaret Ruth Heuton, age 92, passed way peacefully Aug. 20, 2009. 
Margaret was born May 2, 1917 to Frank and Anna (Laack) Rossow in Udolpho Township, Mower County.  She was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church of Waltham, Minn., attended the LeBarr county school and then graduated from Austin High School in 1934.  After completing teacher’s training school in 1935, she began teaching at a country school near Grand Meadow, Minn.  She then taught at the same country school she attended as a young girl.
Margaret married Russell Heuton on June 5, 1938 at Trinity Lutheran Church of Waltham.  They became very active members of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Austin. Besides raising her four boys and volunteering at church, Margaret also worked as the cook at Shaw School from 1957 through 1975.
She is survived by two sons: Richard Heuton, Austin, and Eugene (Lynne) Heuton, St. Paul; a daughter-in-law, Barb (Ronald) Heuton, of San Diego; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents: Frank and Anna Rossow, her brothers Walter and Harold Rossow, her husband Russell and two sons Norman and Ronald. 
    Funeral services will be held 11 am on Monday, Aug. 24, 2009 at St. John’s Lutheran Church with Pastor Tom Ogilvie officiating.  Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday evening at Mayer Funeral Home and one hour before the service at the church on Monday.  Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery.
