On behalf of the faculty and staff of The Hormel Institute, we give our deep and sincere thanks to Kurt and Brenda Potach and the hardworking “Karl Tourney” team and the many participants for such a successful cancer research fundraising golf tournament.

The Potach family, in losing their young son Karl to cancer, honor his life and memory with this tournament through supporting cancer research. It is only through research that discoveries will be made to stop the loss and suffering from cancer.

We also thank our community for their unfailing generosity and support. In addition to the $10,000 gift from the golf tournament, an extra $15,000 was generated by an anonymous donor’s challenge and the response from tournament participants. The challenge to match his or her $2,500 donation to The Hormel Institute — through gifts of $250 — was met not once but three times.  We remain thankful to our community for your support — our research is dedicated to each of you.
